Irrigon, Oregon man sentenced to 74 months in federal prison for illegally possessing and selling 44 firearms

Defendant Was Prohibited From Possession of Firearms Because of His 15 Prior Convictions

Portland, Ore. - Seth Lee Osgood, 32, was sentenced on January 12, 2010 by U. S. District Judge Michael W. Mosman to serve 74 months in prison for his conviction on a charge of felon in possession of firearms. Osgood, who pled guilty on October 21, 2009, has ten prior drug related convictions and two separate convictions for illegal possession of firearms. This case arose out a federal search warrant served at the residence he was living at in Irrigon, Oregon, in May of last year. A total of 44 rifles and handguns were seized, including an unlawfully shortened .22 caliber rifle. Several of the firearms were stolen and one of them had an obliterated serial number. Osgood has been in federal custody since the date of his arrest on June 1, 2009.

The Blue Mountain Narcotics Task Force (BENT) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives investigated this case. This case was prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Fred Weinhouse.
